Lead Game Programmer, Florida Studio
Description
Award winning independent developer Firebrand Games is looking for a Lead Game Programmer to join the team in Florida to work on an exciting new racing game for Sony’s PlayStation Vita.
The Lead Game Programmer will work closely with our game team and leads, Technical Director and Producer to plan, manage, track and execute the programming tasks needed to bring our latest AAA game to Sony’s PlayStation Vita. As part of the leads team you are also expected to contribute significantly to the game design and art design features through your deep knowledge of gameplay and graphical features.
As a senior member of the game team you will assist the Producer and Technical Director in creating technical documentation, schedules, identifying risks and priorities while taking full ownership of the game programming schedule. You will manage the tasks and schedule of your game programming team and diligently monitor code practices and quality to ensure a low bug count and stable development environment.
Qualifications
• BS in Computer Science or other suitable degree preferred.
• Professional experience working in video game development.
• Must have the right to live and work in the USA.
Preferred experience
• A minimum of 6 years of professional video games programming experience.
• Credited on at least 3 published video games in a Senior or Lead Programmer role.
• Experience through a full TRC submission on at least one Sony console game.
Required skills
• High level of proficiency with C++, STL and OOP.
• Solid code architecture and planning skills.
• Exceptional communication and team working skills.
• Ability to work unsupervised and manage your own tasks and priorities.
Desired skills
• Experience with Nintendo platforms.
• A deep interest in games in general and racing games in particular.
• Good optimization skills in general and on HD consoles in particular.
Portfolio
• Solid demo of personal work.
• Links to commercially released products with clear indication of contributions made.
