Description
This is an exciting opportunity to join our highly experienced team in Glasgow, UK, currently working on a high profile AAA Wii project.
The Producer’s primary responsibility is to ensure the smooth & timely production of a game project to a publisher approved specification.
A Producer’s main responsibility is to formally plan and track project tasks and risks, aid department leads in task definition and resource allocation and ultimately, to ensure the smooth delivery of high quality projects.
Additionally, the Producer will act as the main point of contact between Firebrand and our publishing partners; the successful candidate will have a history of external relationship management and will be required to set and manage publisher expectations and foster a strong working relationship.
The position requires extensive management & leadership skills in order to supervise & inspire an experienced team of developers.
Qualifications
Suitable degree education preferred or relevant industry experience.
Preferred Experience
• 3+ years experience as a Producer, Associate Producer or Project Manager.
• A record of commercially shipped titles.
• Professional games industry experience may be substituted with suitable experience from other fields.
Required Skills
• Must be able to work with minimal supervision, be self motivated and able to produce results under own initiative.
• Report to the senior Glasgow Producer regarding production status.
• Co-ordinate with external marketing departments & the internal team to ensure they receive the assets they require in a timely fashion.
• Co-ordinate and manage the acquisition of external assets and source data.
• Must ensure that the integrity of clients’ intellectual property is preserved.
• Responsible for the organisation & management of the localisation process.
• Works with external parties QA department during project test cycles.
• Responsible for all phases of project delivery and manage the day to day activities of the internal development team.
• Communicate openly and regularly with internal team to report status and issues.
• Ability to quickly master proprietary tools and development processes.
• Excellent communication skills; both written & verbal.
• Strong interpersonal skills being able to work well in a tight-knit team environment.
• Highly organized with a strong obsession for & understanding of the importance of details.
• Must be able to use MS Office: Outlook, Word, Excel & MS Project.
• Ability to provide concise, constructive, detailed & specific feedback on a wide variety of game related topics.
• Strong general knowledge and understanding of games. Avid console gamer.
Desirable Skills
• Prior experience working with outsourced art companies a plus.
• Experience working with the Nintendo DS and Wii a definite advantage.
• Formal training in project scheduling.
